IT onboarding ensures that access to company resources is authorized, secure, documented, and aligned with your role.

Laptop & Device Setup

Depending on your role, IT may provide:

  • Laptop
  • Laptop charger
  • Mobile device
  • Other approved IT equipment

All assigned assets are recorded by IT for asset management and tracking.

Once you receive your laptop, IT will help verify the device, network connection, required configurations, and system access.

Taking Care of Your Laptop

  • Do not attempt to repair hardware issues yourself. Contact IT.
  • Use the charger provided for your assigned device unless IT approves an alternative.
  • Use a properly grounded electrical outlet.
  • Keep your laptop clean using an appropriate laptop-safe cleaning product.
  • Restart or shut down your laptop as recommended by IT.
  • Keep food, beverages, and water away from electronic equipment.
  • Protect the laptop from drops, impacts, spills, excessive heat, and accidental damage.
  • Do not lend your company-issued device to unauthorized individuals.

System Access

IT will provide access to the systems and applications required for your role.

Depending on your responsibilities, this may include:

  • Company email
  • Google Workspace
  • VPN
  • Slack
  • IT helpdesk
  • Other approved business applications

Access is provided based on business need and authorization.

Do not attempt to access systems, applications, files, or information that you are not authorized to use.

Basic Security Guidelines

Protect Your Passwords

  • Change temporary or default passwords immediately.
  • Create strong and unique passwords.
  • Never reuse company passwords for personal accounts.
  • Never share passwords, MFA codes, recovery codes, security keys, or authentication credentials.

Use MFA

Multi-Factor Authentication must be enabled for supported company applications and accounts.

Use Zoho Vault

Klizer provides Zoho Vault for securely storing and managing approved credentials.

Do not store company passwords in notebooks, spreadsheets, text files, email, chat messages, browser notes, or other unsecured locations.

Use Approved Software

Do not install cracked, pirated, or unauthorized software.

Do not disable security software or bypass company security controls.

If you need additional software, contact IT before installing it.

Watch for Phishing

Be cautious with emails requesting passwords, financial information, account verification, or urgent action.

Verify the sender, check links and attachments carefully, and never provide passwords or MFA codes by email.

Report suspicious emails, phishing attempts, unexpected login notifications, suspected unauthorized access, lost devices, and other security incidents to IT immediately.

Protect Company Information

Do not share company documents, project files, source code, customer information, or other business data with unauthorized people or external organizations.

Do not upload company information to unauthorized third-party applications, websites, cloud storage services, or personal accounts.

Security is everyone's responsibility.
